" we are the ones who make a brighter day so let's start giving"

CHORUS info for STUDENTS and PARENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENING CONCERT IS A REQUIREMENT FOR BOTH CHORUS AND BAND. THE DATES ARE POSTED ABOVE FOR THE SPRING CONCERT. PLEASE MARK THESE DATES ON YOUR CALENDARS NOW SO THERE ARE NO LAST MINUTE CONFLICTS.

Students should arrive at 7:00 PM on concert night and wear nice clothes-
NO jeans, NO ripped clothing, NO Tshirts with writing. No micro mini skirts
All chorus students are required to participate in the evening concert and stay for the entire concert.

Some reminders about good audience etiquette:
Please do not talk while the performers are performing
If you need to leave, wait for the song to end to enter or exit
Please do not take flash photography while the performers are singing, and do not
go between the conductor and the performers to take a photo.
*If your young child gets restless, please feel free to take them out in the hall, away from the performance so as not to distract the performers or the audience.
Please smile and clap for the performers!!!

CHORUS INFORMATION   LAMS

Chorus rehearsals take place every other day.  6/7 chorus meets on odd days, 7/8 chorus meets on even days.  We will have a concert in December and one in May.  Concert participation is required for this course.  Concert dates will be given out in advance.

Chorus is a regular class and you will receive a grade.   Your grade will be based on your participation, preparation, following directions, and music skills.  You will have a small group singing assessment at the end of each semester to evaluate your singing skills, music reading, and harmonizing (singing your part).  **Excessive tardiness or absences will affect your grade.

The goals in chorus are to teach students the fundamentals of good singing skills, music reading, some music theory, and music expression. My most important goal is to share the joy of singing!

I look forward to making great music with the Linden Avenue Chorus students!
