Mrs. Fenn Smith was appointed by the Board of Education at a special meeting July 30, 2021. She officially starts as Principal on August 2. Superintendent Janet Warden said, "We are very proud to appoint Stacie Fenn Smith to the position of Linden Avenue Principal. She has been an asset to the district in her capacity as a teacher and assistant principal. Ms. Fenn Smith will continue to support the mission and vision of the district as an integral part of our team."

"LAMS is such a special place and I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school that I just love. I am dedicated to student academic achievement, and student social and emotional well-being," said Mrs. Fenn Smith. "Authentic relationships and experiences are key elements in learning. We want our students to achieve, we want them to feel welcome and we want to foster confidence in them while encouraging their individual personalities."

Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Kitty Summers led the interview process after receiving over 40 applications for the principalship. A total of 15 candidates were interviewed by a committee comprised of teachers, administrators, building staff and parents. "We went through a rigorous interview process from which Stacie emerged as our top candidate," she said.
