     Katie Zahedi, Principal at Linden Avenue Middle School joined the administrative team in 2002.  Dr. Zahedi earned a BA in Political Science and Sociology, an MA from SUNY Albany in Liberal Studies; a MS in Education from SUNY New Paltz, and Ph.D. from SUNY Albany in Educational Administration and Policy Studies.  She serves as an adjuct professor in Educational Leadership at State University of New York at New Paltz, preparing school leaders in programs offered at SUNY New Paltz and also at an extension site in Rockland County.
     
    Dr. Zahedi focuses on creating a positive school culture that supports student development, balancing the academic and social/emotional needs that young adolescents face during the middle school years.  The professional work of teachers is respected and conceived as both an art and a science.  She is published in journals and books that address education policy, and organizational theory that focuses on leadership, change and mindfulness in education.
     
    Dr. Zahedi lives with her husband Essi in Port Ewen and has four adult children: two daughters: Mozhdeh and Pardis and two sons: Armand and Esfand.

    Jill Berardi, Assistant Principal at Linden Avenue Middle School joined the administrative team in 2012.  Mrs. Berardi earned a BA in Childhood Education grades 1-6 and Secondary Education in English grades 7-12.  Her Masters is in Special Education grades 1-12 and she received her CAS in Administration as well.
     
    Prior to coming to Red Hook, Mrs. Berardi served as a Special Educator, an English Teacher, an Assistant to the Director of Special Education and an Assistant Principal in the Kingston City School District.  During her time in Red Hook, she has primarily served as the Assistant Principal. Mrs. Berardi had the opportunity to act as Principal of LAMS for the 2014-2015 school year.  Before her time as an educator, she had her own business.  Soon after, she realized she wanted to make a difference in education.
     
    Mrs. Berardi is a creator of positive learning experiences who encourages students to be confident, self-directed, and life-long learners.  Her on-going goal as an educator and leader is to ensure a safe, productive, and physically comfortable learning environment. She builds collaborative partnerships with parents, students, and faculty.  She describes middle school as a great time for academic and personal growth, and loves this age group.
     
    Mrs. Berardi lives with her husband, Darren, and son, Benjamin, in High Falls, NY.
