They are all the same for each instrument: trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone horn, and tuba. Completely different from the 10 year old DVDs: updated, more simple, and with new "cutting edge" techniques I learned recently from my Skype lessons (from Arizona and England!)with professional players David Bilger and Daniel Perantoni!     Steve Dunda, Mill Road Elementary School
    Since 1996, Steve Dunda has been teaching instrumental music and band at Mill Road School where his second-year bands have earned numerous “Gold With Distinction” awards at area NYSSMA Festivals. Prior to coming to Red Hook, Mr. Dunda taught instrumental music lessons, band, and jazz Ensemble to 7th, 8th, and 9th graders in the Wappingers Central School District for 11 years, and before that taught Music Theory and Percussion at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, and performed with the Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestra in Midland, Texas. When first coming to Red Hook, Mr. Dunda also co-founded and conducted the Red Hook Adult Community Band for three years.
     
    Mr. Dunda earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from SUNY Potsdam in 1981 and his Master of Music degree in Music Performance from the University of Illinois in 1983.  Mr. Dunda also earned a Diploma in Fine Arts in Music Conducting from the University of Calgary in 1994. 
     
    Mr. Dunda is a Past President, Vice President, and Treasurer of the Dutchess County Music Educators Association. He is a certified NYSSMA All-State Adjudicator, and also holds memberships in the New York State Band Directors Association, the National Band Association, the Music Educators National Conference, the Organization of American Kodaly Educators, the Percussive Arts Society, and the American Federation of Musicians. For 15 years he was the Timpanist and Principal Percussionist with the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra, and “first call” substitute timpanist and percussionist with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic Orchestra. He and his wife Xuemei and their cat Maggie live in Kingston. When not teaching or performing music, Mr. Dunda enjoys downhill skiing, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, baseball, working out at the gym, Netflix documentaries, reading history and biographies, Victorian architecture, flamenco dance, and long distance travel to a large variety of cultures.
