Welcome to Mill Road School GardenThe Mill Road School Garden is an outdoor classroom for Red Hook's Elementary School students. Its purpose is to teach children about growing and enjoying nutritious food through hands-on activities, as well as supplementing the academics taught in-doors. Common Core subjects such as math and science can be found in every lesson. Garden educators and classroom teachers work together to develop garden curriculum that reinforces lessons being taught in the classroom. Lessons in the garden include not only horticulture, composting and sustainability, but also math, science, map making, poetry, vocabulary. writing, history, social studies and more! Visitors are welcome in the garden; classes are held Tuesdays through Fridays in the Fall and Spring. Join us!
