In preparation for the 2020-2021 school year and in accordance with New York State Executive Orders, a District Reentry Team (DRT) was formed. The purpose of this team is to research, organize and develop protocols and procedures that will form the basis for a reentry plan which will be submitted to New York State for its approval. This plan will also provide the students, staff, and families of the Red Hook Central School District with a framework for reentry to school.
To help inform our reopening plan, the Red Hook School District gathered input from stakeholders, including administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents/guardians of students, local health department officials and health care providers, employee unions and community groups. Engagement efforts included online surveys, focus groups and numerous one-on-one conversations. Our Reentry Team has been in place since May and has been discussing ideas and solutions.
Reentry Team Task Forces
Certain members of the DRT will have oversight responsibility for representative task forces which will help develop protocols and procedures specific to their functional/departmental responsibilities.
There are task forces examining the following areas: teaching and learning; health and safety; facilities; nutrition; transportation; social-emotional well-being; budget and fiscal matters; technology and connectivity; attendance; chronic absenteeism; school schedules; special education; bilingual education and world languages; staffing and human resources; and communications.
Thank you to the parents, students, faculty, staff, and administrators who have volunteered to assist with the reentry planning. We will continue to solicit input from our broader community as the process moves forward.
We will utilize this section of our website to keep our community informed about reentry planning. Please check back often.
