The Red Hook Education Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organization comprised of community members dedicated to supporting Red Hook schools. The foundation seeks to enhance the quality of our schools by providing funding for programs and facilities beyond what the school budget allows, and by facilitating stronger ties between the Red Hook Central School District and the resources and institutions in our community.
Since its founding, the foundation was awarded a grant which will help Red Hook students participate in science enrichment programs with Bard College; established The Martha Strever Scholarship for Achievement in Mathematics; has become the fiscal sponsor for the new outdoor classroom project at Mill Road School; established a middle school debate club as a co-venture with Bard College; has begun the formation of science and performing arts committees; is actively developing a college and career night event for the high school; and is researching courses in personal finance for our schools.
There are a variety of opportunities to volunteer, and we particularly need folks with backgrounds in grant writing and finance to join our efforts.
