On Friday, Nov. 17, Red Hook Central School District vocal and instrumental music students will be taking part in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Zone 10 Area All-State festival held at Carmel Central School District. Based on the outstanding scores they earned performing instrumental and vocal solos at a NYSSMA solo festival last spring, these students were invited to represent Red Hook Central School District alongside other top student musicians from 22 districts located in Columbia, Dutchess, and Putnam counties. Students will join 270 students in a series of rigorous rehearsals that will begin on Friday and continue on Saturday morning. Then, under the direction of guest conductors from top colleges and universities, students will give a culminating performance in the afternoon on Saturday, Nov. 18.
