Get Text Message Alerts from the School District

Interested in Receiving Text Message Alerts from the School District?

If you are not already receiving text messages from Red Hook schools but would like to, here's what you need to do:

1. Make sure your student's school office has a current cell phone number on file for you in your parent/guardian contact file.
2. Enter the short code of 67587 in the recipient field or the "to" field of your text message, and the word "OPTIN" in the message body.  If this step fails, you need to confirm that you have short codes enabled on your cell phone. If you need assistance with this step, you must contact your cell phone provider. The school district cannot assist you with changing your cell phone settings.
3. Assuming your cell phone number is already on file with us and you have short codes enabled on your cell phone, you are all set to receive text message alerts from the school district. (Please be advised that this service is voluntary and that the school district does not pay for text message charges that may be incurred by you for sending or receiving text messages.)
