2022-23 brings new staff, tech and programs
The 2022-2023 school year will bring exciting and innovative opportunities to Red Hook students. Our teachers have worked throughout the summer to create new and updated courses, from Pre-K to Grade 12. Computer science, IB and AP classes, new electives, and an interdisciplinary class that weaves together science, art, and storytelling are just a part of the district’s creative and challenging curriculum.
We continue to enrich our students’ interest in the future of innovation. This year, every Red Hook High School student will be given a Macbook, to ensure all students have equal opportunity to access information and resources. Additionally, the Future Farmers of America are coming to Red Hook, offering opportunities to students who are interested in developing the future of agriculture.
This year, we have hired 20 new faculty members and seven new Teaching Assistants. At Mill Road Elementary, our K-2 building will welcome a Music teacher, Speech Language Pathologist, and Psychologist. Our 3-5 building will be joined by a 3rd grade and 5th grade teacher. Linden Avenue Middle School has hired two Physical Education teachers, as well as teachers for Spanish, Science, Social Studies, Math, and English. Red Hook High School welcomes educators for Instrumental Music, Social Studies, Special Education, and three English teachers. We also welcome Red Hook High School’s Assistant Principal, Colleen Lynch. These teachers will attend an orientation that acquaints them with the Raider profile and RHCSD expectations. They will be supported by mentoring programs and trainings to ensure your child’s education remains consistent and excellent.
