• Hello,

                              Welcome to my webpage!

Curiosity leads to knowledge and knowledge is power!
Fourth grade is a challenging but interesting grade level.  I strive to make learning relevant and meaningful. I also emphasize the importance of personal responsibility in all of the things that we do.
While I am your child's teacher this year, you will always be your child's most influential teacher. I encourage you to take part in your child's learning by looking over your child's finished work, helping with the practice of skills, and encouraging your child to read often. Talk to your child about the book and have a conversation about it. This promotes comprehension skills.
I have developed what I call the Hudson River curriculum. Through science, reading, social studies and classroom visits from DEC educators, I weave the Hudson River into our curriculum throughout the school year in all of its various dimensions. Included with this is an exciting field trip to the Hudson River in October.
I also encourage taking trips to historical sites in the Hudson Valley and as well as parks and nature preserves. We are fortunate to live in a region that is rich in historical and natural attractions.
I incorporate environmental education throughout the year in various ways. Children need to understand that we are a part of nature. We can act as benefactors of the living environment or destroy it through neglect and ignorance.
We go on short field trips to our outdoor learning area throughout the school year to reinforce various aspects of the 4th grade curriculum. This includes walks on our nature trail in the forest as well as the restored meadow habitat. You are welcome to use this resource after school hours.
