Red Hook Music Department
The Red Hook Music Department provides comprehensive music education for all students, kindergarten through 12th grade. In classroom music, students learn the skills that will enable a lifetime of musical involvement: singing, listening, basic piano skills, reading and writing music notation, and learning about the musical traditions of different cultures.
Beginning in fourth grade, students have the opportunity to participate in dedicated vocal and instrumental performing ensembles, including choruses, bands, and jazz groups at all schools. In these groups, students can develop their knowledge and skills as performers to an outstanding level, and are regularly selected for regional and statewide honor ensembles.
