Our school is a special place where we focus on supporting the whole student through innovative teaching practices, exciting electives, diverse extracurricular activities, and an inclusive environment where all are welcome.

Red Hook is a future-focused school that emphasizes preparing students for the opportunities and challenges in an ever-changing world. Academics, clubs, school-wide events, arts and music all intersect here at Red Hook High School. We value interdisciplinary approaches to learning and we want our students to be engaged in their courses and our larger school community.

Simply put - we want our students to love coming to school each day!

What Red Hook High School offers

Rigorous early college work

As a premier International Baccalaureate World School, students can earn a full IB Diploma. They can also take numerous AP and dual-enrollment classes, and take part in a Bard College bridge program, all of which expose them to rigorous college-level instruction and allow them to earn credits while still in high school. A micro-credential center and medical career internship program likewise provides early career training.

Professional-level theatre arts facility, instruction

More than a school with a drama club, Red Hook offers a theatre arts graduation pathway with six dedicated classes. Utilizing a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center, students receive hands-on experience with professional technology.

A Focus on Wellness

Understanding the importance of social and emotional health, Red Hook offers such classes as Freshman Focus and Mind, Body, Wellness, which teach students how to manage the rigors of high school and mental health first aid. We also have resources like a zen lounge and regular visits from therapy dogs.

STEAM classes, extracurriculars

Numerous extracurriculars, like the RoboRaiders Robotics team, expand STEAM opportunities beyond classwork. We’ve even sent experiments to the International Space Station through the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program.
