All About RHCSD

Welcome

The Red Hook Central School District was organized on October 26, 1937 after a fire destroyed the Union Free School District building thereby providing the impetus for 11 Common and Union Free school districts to centralize.  On September 6, 1939, the district dedicated a new central school on Linden Avenue.

Since centralization, growth in the community resulted in the construction of a grades 9-12 high school in 1962, and the 1968 construction of an elementary school housing grades PreK-2 in a primary wing and grades 3-5 in an intermediate wing. The original central school, now the Linden Avenue Middle School, currently houses grades 6-8.

The district encompasses approximately 90 square miles and includes portions of the towns of Red Hook, Rhinebeck, and Milan in Dutchess County as well as Clermont and Livingston in Columbia County.

Enrollment is just under 1,600 students in grades Pre-K-12 for the 2022-23 school year.

Our Mission Statement

Keeping in Touch
The district uses several forms of technology to communicate with parents and guardians of children in
the district.

ParentSquare is a school-to-home system that unifies communications with parents and guardians all
the way from the district office to the classroom. ParentSquare provides text, email, app or voice
messaging, automatic two-way translation in more than 100 languages, contact verification and
correction tools, and built-in sign-ups, forms, appointments, attendance notifications and more. Parents
are asked to contact the main office staff in your student’s school if email addresses and phone numbers
change so that we can update our records and continue to reach you in an emergency.

The district’s website — redhookcentralschools.org — is another valuable resource for information.
Please check it often for information about school events, school delays and snow cancellations.
You will also find general information postings and closing and delay information for RHCSD on the
district’s social media channels: X @rhcsd; Instagram @redhookcsd, and the Red Hook Central School
District Facebook page.

The eSchoolData Parent Portal provides encrypted, online access to parents to view their student’s
attendance, marking period and report card reports, assignment grades, class schedules and more.

Parents/guardians of a child enrolled in Red Hook schools can request an account to the Parent Portal by
visiting parentportal-mhric.eschooldata.com/RedHookCSD and completing the registration process.
We believe that home-to-school communication is an important part of your child’s success in school.
Every teacher in Red Hook has a voice mailbox and an email account. A staff directory is available on our
website, or you can call our main number and access the voicemail system’s directory. Please keep in
touch!
